2018 Seguin Manuel Volnay Vieilles Vignes 0.75 Ltr. Rouge
picture of

Dark ruby colour. Concentrated on the nose, it develops powerful and elegant notes of red fruits enhanced by toasted nuances. It is well structured and concentrated with ripe silky tannins that give lots of elegance to the wine. Long and nice finish.

To match with a Bourguignon beef, a terrine or Cîteaux cheese.

climate

The region is at the confluence of three major influences: southerly, oceanic and continental. These unique conditions have, over time, dictated the choice of varietal. The climate of the Bourgogne winegrowing region is mainly temperate, and has a positive influence on vine growing.

soil

Clay and limestone on the foothill of the village, south of Côte de Beaune, facing East, near the premiers cru area. Vines are over 40 years old.

vinification

Hand-picked, the grapes have been sorted out before being vatted during 16 days. After fermentation, the wine has been matured in oak cask for 14 months.
